We place New Zealand-trained ECE, Primary, and Secondary teachers into great centres and schools across Victoria, South Australia, the UK, and international schools worldwide. We partner with schools and centres looking for high-quality NZ-trained educators who bring strong teaching practice, adaptability, and a learner-focused approach to their teaching.

As a New Zealand citizen, moving to Australia to teach is significantly easier than for teachers from other countries. You don't need a work visa. You'll need teacher registration in your destination state, a Working With Children Check, and a few pieces of paperwork sorted in the right order. We help with all of it.
We will be on hand to help with the entire process. So if you have any questions or just want to learn more, let's start with a phone or video call.
New Zealand citizens travelling to Australia are automatically granted a Special Category Visa (SCV) on arrival. It lets you live and work in Australia indefinitely. There's no separate work visa to apply for.
You'll need to register with the teacher regulatory body in your destination state. For Victoria, that's the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). We walk you through the application and what evidence you'll need from your NZ qualifications and experience.
Every state requires a Working With Children Check before you can start in a classroom. In Victoria it's called a WWCC. You apply once you have an Australian address — we'll tell you exactly when to do it and how.
A rough sequence of what to have ready:
We send you a personalised checklist when we start working together, so you're not guessing.
You can move this month, next month, or plan a transition over the coming year. We have roles ready to fill right now and roles we're building toward, we work to your timeline, not the other way around.
Bank account, Tax File Number, Medicare, Australian phone, somewhere to live. We don't do all of it for you, but we'll tell you the right order, the right providers, and what to do first.

Get in touch with the team at Talk Global and we’ll connect with you for a chat about making the move to Australia and the roles we have available.
